DA Foundation
mission statement
The LA County DA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to creating safer communities through education, advocacy, and rehabilitation. We will support programs meant to equip young people with a better understanding of the criminal justice system and the dangers of narcotics like fentanyl, support the rights and needs of victims and their families, and reduce recidivism by providing innovative opportunities for incarcerated individuals to develop productive skills for successful reentry into society.
our programs
Youth Education on Criminal Justice and Narcotic Awareness
Our youth education initiative focuses on reaching students from 5th to 12th grade, supporting tailored programs that demystify the criminal justice system while highlighting the dangers of fentanyl and similar narcotics. Through supporting educational workshops, community events, and programs, we aim to empower young people with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed, life-saving decisions.
Victim Advocacy and Support
We stand with victims and their families, particularly those affected by violent crimes like murder. Our foundation will support providers of resources, legal assistance, and emotional support to help victim rights groups amplify their voices and ensure that justice is pursued. We aim to provide support for families to help them navigate the complexities of the criminal justice system, ensuring their loved ones are remembered and that their rights are protected.
Prisoner Rehabilitation and Reentry Programs
Recognizing the urgent need to reduce the high rates of recidivism, we will support innovative, skill-based programs for incarcerated individuals. These programs provide prisoners with the tools they need to reintegrate into society, focusing on education, vocational training, and personal development, and are designed to empower participants to lead productive lives, reducing the likelihood of reoffending and contributing to safer communities.
